The bride and the groom are dressed in traditional Indian wear, suitable for local requirements. The groom ties the Mangalsutra, a sacred thread of love and goodwill, around the neck of the bride on the day of the marriage, signifying their union.

Now-a-days the number of love marriages is gradually increasing. Some are accepted by parents and conducted as traditional wedding. Some times the parents don’t accept. The boy and the girl simply get married in a Registrar's office legally, with the help of friends.

Shiva and Parvathi refer to the Mass and Energy.
The names like Shaktha directly refers to Matter and Sakthi directly refers to Energy.

The Marriage of Matter and Energy is the whole universe. E= MC^2 is the modern representation of the old subject. Per Ancient way of living the C not just refers to light but also to the Human consciousness. The consciousness or Brahman is always in constant flux of marriage of Matter and Energy. The personalification of Brahman is various forms and names of objects in universe. This is the result of marriage of Shiva and Parvathi. Their marriage gives life of universe.

Also its important to remember that Matter is no differnet from Energy, its just a realm of energy to appear like having weight and properties. in words of edwin Scodinger Electron is not a particle, but tendency of energy to appear like Matter.

Consciousness with pure love/knowledge can absolutly have control over the Matter and Energy. Whole Patanjali shidda system is based on this. All meditation is to understand the Shiva and Sakthi with in us.

Its a way to realise the Self. The self is always in marriage of Shiva and Parvathi.

This holy act of marriage can be viewd from other prespective, this is my prespective Scientifically.
